Rivian Financial & Strategic Analysis Project

In this project, I conducted a detailed financial and strategic assessment of Rivian to evaluate its long-term investment potential within the rapidly evolving EV market. I analyzed Rivian’s production performance, delivery trends, gross profit progress, and per-vehicle cost structure, highlighting the company’s milestone of achieving positive gross profit alongside persistent losses driven by high manufacturing and material expenses. My work included reviewing R&D efficiency gains, benchmarking Rivian against key EV competitors, and assessing future profitability drivers such as scale, vertical integration, and platform optimization. I also examined major risks, including cash burn, supply chain complexity, demand uncertainty, and competitive pressure from Tesla and legacy automakers.
